The creators of Sangamon Watch Company are longtime entrepreneurs and residents in Sangamon County, Illinois, and they have been inspired by the early days of Abraham Lincoln, who lived and worked in the Sangamon River area such as Decatur and New Salem. Brian Su is one of the investors who is bringing the Sangamon watches from a blueprint into reality.

Influenced by a family of precision mechanical engineers, Brian Su has a deep passion for mechanical watches, and like his friend co-founder Tyler McKay, has traveled the world to collect them. In 1989 he followed his heart and fascination with American history and culture – and migrated to the United States to pursue his education at the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS) and business ventures. With nearly three decades of international business experience, he often travels the globe. As his deep appreciations for American heritage grow for last 28 years of living in Springfield Illinois, Brian has transformed and infused Sangamon Watch Company’s business model with the American spirit.
